The Chinese Musicians Association of America (CMAA), Chinse Musicians Association of China, National Chinese Orchestra of China announced the third “Huain Cup” International Chinese Instrument Competition which will be held in February 2014. It is a competition primarily focus on Chinese traditional instruments solo.

The competition is designed to discover talents, promote cultural exchange and friendship. In the multi-cultural American community, it provides an unique opportunity and platform for Chinese musicicians to present their talents and introduces Chinese music to a broader audience.

Groups

        • Professional

Group A (Aged 16-40), Group B  (Aged below 16)

        • Non-Professional

Group A (Aged 16-40: Borned between January 1, 1974 and January 1, 1998)
Group B  (Aged below 16: Borned after January 1, 1998)

    • Non-professional musicians are allowed to participate in professional category but professional musicians are not allowed to take part in the non-professional category.

Disciplines

        • Solo for Plucked Instruments, String Instruments, Wind Instruments (No accompaniment)

Song Requirement

  • Non-Professional category: one song no more than 7 minutes
  • Professional category: two songs one of traditional style and contemporary style.

Awards

        • Gold, silver, bronze, merit and special awards

        • December 31, 2013 (Within U.S.A.)

2. Two (2) copies of 2-inch photo and one (1) artistic photo

4. Registration Fees

* USD$280 (Participant outside of U.S.A.)
– Other costs such as visa stamping, air tickets, room and board are not included.
– If participant was rejected from visa stamping, half of the fees may be returned.
– Additional fees for mailing invitation letter due to errors from participants will be responsible by participants.
– No refund of fees if withdrawing from the competition due to personal reasons.

* USD$150 (Participant within U.S.A.)

* Payment can be made by one of the following methods:

sent to “P.O. Box 4192, Santa Clara, CA 95056, United States”

b. Electronic wiring to Account Number (00987-64488), Routing Number (510000956), Swift Code (BofaUS3N)

c. By credit card via Paypal. Paypal account not required.  

d. Participants outside of U.S.A. may submit their registration fees to the point of contact of their country along with their registration form.

The competition organizing committee reserves all rights to change the terms and policies without prior notice.
